WHILE JOBS' MOB receives praise from its tame press for its Ibooks application for the Ipad, more critical hacks have smelt a rat. Paul Thurrott thought that it was just another example of Apple ripping off a user interface. When Thurrott attended Jobs' Mob's rally last week he just assumed when he saw the Ibook interface that Apple had roped in Delicious Monster, the shop behind the brilliant Mac app Delicious Library to design it. Delicious Monster founder Wil Shipley twittered that Apple didn't license the IBooks from him, it just copied it. Later, he twittered, "I guess it's not enough Apple has hired every employee who worked on Delicious Library, they also had to copy my product's look. Flattery?" The bookshelf view in Ibooks is nearly identical to the main bookshelf view used in Delicious Library. Not only that, Apple liked it and gave it the Apple Design Award twice, and made it a runner-up one other time.
