Alienware unleashes four-GPU monster

Alienware has quadrupled the available graphics power on its elite ALX CrossFireX desktop PC with the launch of the ATI CrossFireX video card.. The high-performance PC maker claims that CrossFireX is the first quad-GPU gaming platform to support DirectX 10.1.The PC uses two ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 graphics cards, each housing two GPUs and a full 1GB of dedicated graphics memory, making 2GB of dedicated GDDR3 graphics memory."Alienware is extreme high-performance PC gaming, and expectations are never higher than when dealing with the ALX CrossFireX, our most sophisticated desktop system," said Brian Joyce, senior vice president at Alienware.
